Fusion Wedding at Fazeley Studios Digbeth Birmingham | Midlands Wedding Photographer

Karen and Chris married at Fazeley Studios in Digbeth, Birmingham with a Celebrant led Fusion wedding of English and Punjabi. After getting ready together and with the bridal party in one room at The Hotel Du Vin just 10 minutes away. Something I had never done before but totally loved how unique they were as a couple and all their friends to break tradition.

Celebrant Holly Austin-Davies led an awesome ceremony filled with so much laughter and… wait for it… wrestling in a totally unique Milini as part of the Punjabi tradition where the bride and grooms family meet to embrace and exchange gifts as a way of recognising a new and unified family group. Chris and Karens friends are a big part of their lives and so deemed family, but their friends took it to the next level with ultimate wrestle hugs! It was something to see for sure!

As many of you in the Birmingham and Midlands area know and when it comes to unique and vibrant coloured weddings… Digbeth is king for diversity, colour, vibrancy, culture, art and industrial buildings. The old Custard factory is right round the corner to Fazeley Studios and it’s other venue, The Bond and where I captured Chris and Karen initially for their engagement shoot (pre wedding).

We had some bad weather mid way through the day having to do the family photos inside and meaning we had to wait to go back out for Chris and Karens solo photos, but the rain stopped and so we had a quick run down the road to capture some colour and of course Karens wonderful Indian Punjabi dress and accessories which looked stunning. Particular praise to Bharathi’s wonderful Henna which I was so impressed with!
