Astypalea, Greece Destination Engagement Shoot Photography

Nick & Ellie

Nick and Ellie are marrying at the beautiful Chora Castle on the top of the towns hill in Astypalea (Astypalaia) Greece. Ellie’s Auntie lives in Astypalea, which is one of Greece’s small islands with only 1500 people living there. So they thought it would be an amazing opportunity to have a destination wedding in Greece with close family, preceded by their destination engagement photography around Astypalea at locations we wouldn’t be able to achieve on the wedding day.

Astypalea isn’t known to many people. When you think of Greece you think of Mykonos, Rhodes, Kos and Athens, but Astypalea is a beautiful island too and is far away from the hustle and bustle of the larger islands. It’s incredibly relaxed over there and you never quite get used to waking up to see the amazing old Chora Castle ruins at the top of the hill, surrounded by sea and more islands, some not even inhabited. The town is dominated by the magnificent Venetian fort, which itself contains two brilliant-white churches. It’s a stunning location for a destination wedding photographer like me.
