Paul and Jess met in February 2014 and had their first date at Goblets pub in Southampton. They married locally in Westgate Hall. They chose Westgate Hall because the building sits adjacent to the house that Jess's nan grew up in and where her grandad lived after they were first married. They have sadly both passed away now but it was lovely for Jess as she felt like a part of them were able to join them on their big day.
As Paul and Jess have got older, they have fallen in love with old Southampton and so wanted to keep the Reception part of the wedding at the heart of it. So they chose The Vestry, also in Southampton near the Mayflower Theatre as their venue, which is a lovely old converted Church.
Before the wedding they had the romantic notion that they would be able to walk home when the evening was over, as they only live 10 minutes away, but unfortunately Jess's feet were too tired at the end of the night to do so in the end.
Aesthetically, they gave a subtle nod to the late 1960s early 1970s; inspired by the artist Bridget Riley. A black and white theme, referenced her iconic stripes; with accents of blue and orange.
