Paul and Becky's wedding was at the beautiful and newly refurbished Sopley Mill in Burton, Dorset.
Sopley Mill is a historic building featuring 3 stunning floors and a preparation room which is superb for a couple to freshen up in during the day or using as a dedicated bridal preparation room for a bride and Bridesmaids.
Sopley Mill's ground floor, called 'The Boatroom', has exposed and protected historic original features of the building showing off, a bar and chill out area, all with beautiful rustic original beams. The second floor which is an incredibly beautiful and bright ceremony room (a photographers dream!) is called 'The Granary' which turns around in the evening to the reception room and dance floor.
The third floor is the reception room, called 'Riverview' and again with beautiful hard-wood floors and exposed wooden beams. The whole venue works so well for a rustic/country feel to a wedding and a blank canvas for couples to decorate/theme as they wish. Paul and Becky finished off their emerald and slight vintage theme with vintage crockery and bunting across the beams. The ladies had a bespoke heart pin cushion that becky made herself with each guests name on and the gents had bespoke white handkerchiefs with their name stitched on in emerald green. A lovely touch to the wedding favours.
In addition to the stunning interior, Sopley Mill has so many beautiful features around the grounds including the River Avon running through the mill and under a beautiful bridge to the main grass area which is a fantastic size for at least 120 people or more in the evening. It also has a lovely patio area and chairs for guests to relax around. It has beautiful Water Meadows backing onto the grounds, where on a good day, the sun sets perfectly.
Sopley Mill is such a beautiful place for a wedding. It really does tick so many boxes.
Becky's bridal preparation started up the road at The Manor in Burton with her bridesmaids all dressed in Emerald which is a colour scheme i have not yet covered at a wedding and worked really well as well as tying in with the theme at Sopley Mill, the means suits/cravats/hankies and the vintage theme.
Becky is a very sweet person and looked stunning in her Justin Alexander wedding dress and with her beautiful vibrant and rustic feel flowers by Lauren at Concept Flowers.
