Ryan and Gabby met through mutual friends and have been together for nearly 8 years now. They chose Marwell Zoo for their engagement shoot because they love visiting zoos and it's something they still enjoy doing together when they have free time. They visited Marwell for one of their first dates together and they also stayed at the hotel as an engagement present from Gabbys parents.
Kevin and Caroline met online in 2010. Caroline works for the National Trust and she selected the beautiful backdrop of Lacock and Lacock Abbey for their engagement shoot location. As well as being a place she regularly works at, she has happy memories of spending time with her mum and sister at the May Day Fare as a child.
Mark and Lyssa met in 2010 as students and bonded over their mutual love of music and film. Mark was Lyssa's supervisor at the part-time job they both worked, and he was the only person to pronounce her name correctly first-try!
Some of their first dates were around Swanage in Dorset – they love the view from the pier and in another life they’d like to have been pirates – so Swanage is a great place to pretend! Swanage has special childhood memories for both of them as well. Lyssa camped there with the Brownies as a child and Mark (who will forever be a train nerd) used to visit with his family to watch the steam trains. They love the nostalgic feeling of the Purbecks - it’s idyllic English countryside. They’ve spent a lot of summer evenings wandering around Swanage bay, and they’ve even dined on their special steam engine service. Mark admits that if he hadn’t proposed in Disneyland Paris, he would have proposed in Swanage!
Matthew and Francesca met in Bournemouth on a chance night out, and ever since they have been inseparable. They both enjoy long walks in the countryside and spending time with each other at the beach. They chose Winspit Caves and Chapman’s Pool for their engagement shoot as it has always been somewhere special for Matthew, who spent a lot of time there with his family growing up. He soon introduced this dramatic location to Francesca, and it now feels very much like their own little piece of paradise, still offering new places for them to discover together. The day of the shoot was a sunny yet cold and breezy day. After a lot of walking we managed to get the sunset shots down on the beach they were hoping for, and made it back to the clifftop before the last light faded.
Rachel and Phil first met through football. They are both big AFC Bournemouth fans and had been going to games for a few years before they met each other. they knew each other through mutual friends and after a few glances across the stands(!) they exchanged numbers and got chatting.
They chose the location for their engagement shoot (Woodgreen/Godshill) because it is where they went on one of their first dates together. They walked through the forest together up to the viewpoint at Castle Hill and had a picnic together whilst they watched the sun set. They love the area so much that 4 years later they have decided to get married right round the corner!
Both Darren and Ruth love walking and camping, their favourite place for this is Sidmouth in Devon. Ruth spent many summer holidays there as a child and has very fond memories of visits to Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary, Sidmouth Beach and Jacobs Ladder also on Sidmouth Beach. Over the last few years they have camped just down the road from the Donkey Sanctuary and have made amazing memories in Sidmouth. They knew an engagement shoot at their special location would mean a lot to them for years to come.
Paul and Jessica met 2 years ago for their first date not realising straight away that they had already met before. It turned out that they had gone to the same middle school, and Paul had lived just round the corner from Jessica's family home. It was when Paul showed Jessica a childhood photo of him and his brother that she realised who he was, sparking great conversation and childhood memories!
