I met Andrew and Eileen a few months back, not knowing that they were a more mature couple than my normal cliental. My job is so interesting, you can make so many presumptions about what people may like, what they think, how they may react and I totally assumed this lovely couple would expect more traditional photography than what I normally create and they completely embraced me as a person and how I shoot!
Andrew and Eileen's story is very heart warming and sad, but also incredibly positive and full of love. They both lost their previous partners of many years a few years ago and destroying all stereotypes of an older generation, they found each other with Internet Dating. After a few tries they almost gave up, until they stumbled upon each other and it was love at first sight. They got on like a house on fire. After one year, they decided to marry!
I was very flattered to be recommend to them by the wonderful staff at Christchurch Harbour Hotel. They took time to look through my work and they really liked my "unusual and unique way of taking photos". We met at my favourite meeting place, Bodega Wine Bar in Christchurch, Dorset to discuss their wedding plans and learn more about how I work and shoot. I suggested to them about booking their engagement shoot with me and to think outside of the box when thinking about locations.
I happened to mention Bodega, purely as an example of the fact that we could have an engagement shoot anywhere. They instantly loved the idea and the beautiful rustic environment, so plans were set to have their engagement shoot there where it all began when we all met.
On a personal note from Andrew and Eileen and myself, thank you so much to all the staff at Bodega for allowing us time to shoot there. I can personally recommend the bar and all their amazing wine and cheese tasting evenings!
