I love a blank canvas and although I get to shoot at many local venues to me in Bournemouth, It's a big creative kick for me and exciting to visit new venues across the country and especially North Dorset and across Hampshire.
This year has seen a change in my work. I have been inspired by a number of photographers, whose work excites me, wows me and makes me want to work even harder to achieve something better and importantly, more creative for my clients. I'm going to be absolutely honest, like I am with all my clients and simply say that the wedding industry seems to be a bubble and the way the wedding industry markets its self, hasn't changed much for years, and thus, makes it very tough to show newly engaged couples the creative side to wedding photography and not the generic side.
So where inevitably there is some generic sides to weddings and indeed wedding photography, I am trying more often that not, to NOT shoot the obvious, to have more creative freedom and give couples something less generic and obvious and something more creative and wow.
The hope is that my work stands out from other photographers and people can recognise the differences in my creative choices and also understand what I want to achieve with my photography. I don't want a couple to book any old photographer, I want them to book a photographer who's style they absolutely love and can see the differences between mine and anothers, understand it, get it and get me as a person and to truly know they are getting something special.
I hope you enjoy my work below. It's what I deem my best wedding photography of 2016 and a great representation of my style.
